Girls Sectional to Resume at Noon at Hendelmeyer Park

The final day of the Effingham girls tennis sectional tournament will be played today, but the start has been delayed until noon.

The tournament will be played today at Hendelmeyer Park due to the Marching Hearts Invitational at Effingham High School.

The four semifnialists still alive in the singles tournament include Jenny Walters of St. Anthony High School and Holley Wright of Teutopolis, who will play each other.  Jaclyn Shan of Olney will take on Hannah Blythe of Vandalia in the other semifinal.  The winners will play for the sectional championship.

The four semifinalists in the doubles tournament are Shipman and Kauble of Olney who will take on Ashley Hemmen and Taylor Deters of Teutopolis, and Jaclyn Shan and Audrey Jensen on Olney who will play Allison Vogt and Elena Breer of Teutopolis.  The winners will play for the sectional championship.
