(Flushing, NY) -- The biggest upset of this year's U.S. Open has occurred as 17-year-old American Victoria Duval has knocked off former champion and 11th-seeded Samantha Stosur.  Duval says the final moments of the match made her very nervous.

Duval collected her first win over a top-20 player in the three-set triumph. Meantime top seeds Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Wozniacki and Sara Errani all advanced in straight sets while Petra Kvitova won a three-set match to advance out of first-round play. On the men's side of the draw, top-seed Novak Djokovic cruised in straight sets while Tomas Berdych, Roger Federer, Milos Raonic and Tommy Haas all moved on. American John Isner also cruised in his first-round match.
