St. Anthony, T-town Captured Tennis Victories By Same 8-1 Count

The Bulldogs were three of three in doubles wins. Mia Kinkelaar and Ellie Link combined to take the No. 1 spot by 6-1, 6-0 counts. Liv Hoene and Nora Trupiano, also went 6-1 6-0 in the win at the second spot. Rounding out the doubles figures were Anna Green and Julia Schultz with a 6-2, 6-3 win.

In singles play, Link blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 while Trupiano won 6-0, 6-3. Greene had a tougher fight but pulled out a victory, 7-6 (5), 6-3.

Schultz won at No. 4, 6-2, 6-1 while Katie Wrigley took the No. 5 spot, 6-4, 6-3.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis swept the doubles events and claimed five of the six singles matches in an 8-1 victory over Mattoon Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes' Anna Probst and Adi Davidson were 6-0, 6-3 winners at the top doubles spot. Allie Ruholl and Ella Wermert won 6-1, 6-0 while Abbie Lee and Katelyn Frese combined to win 6-4, 6-2.

In singles action, Lee tooo the top spot, 7-5, 6-2. Probst was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at No. 2. Davidson finished out the top three, winning 6-1, then dropping a 6-2 set. She came back to win 10-8.

Lily Stortzum claimed another hard-fought victory at No. 5. Stortzum fell in the opening set 6-4 but came back with 7-5, 10-8 tallies for the win. Sami Habing finished out at No. 6, winning 6-2, 7-5.

EHS claimed two of the six singles contests. Eva Wendling won at No. 3, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 while Nora Mitchell claimed the No. 6 spot, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 10-8.

In doubles play, Wendling and Mitchell combined to capture the No. 3 doubles victory. The pair lost the opening set 6-0 but came back with 6-3, 10-3 tallies for the victory.
