St. Anthony Hands Effingham 6-3 Tennis Loss

It was crosstown rivals meeting as Effingham St. Anthony hosted Effingham in high school tennis action Thursday and came out a 6-3 winner.

The Bulldogs and Hearts split singles wins. St. Anthony's Manaye Moss won at No. 1, 6-0, 6-3 while Colin Westendorf claimed No. 3, 7-6, (7), 6-4. The Bulldogs' Connor Eggers took the No. 5 spot, 3-6, 6-3, 10-6.

For the Hearts, Cannon Bockhorn won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-3. Ross Schaefer captured No. 4, 7-5, 6-3. Rece Kinney took the No. 6 spot, 6-4, 7-5.

Then in doubles play, the Bulldogs swept to win the match. M. Mossman and Evan Mossman were 6-1, 6-0 winners at the top spot. Westendorf and Joey Trupiano claimed No. 2, 6-4, 6-4. Eggars and Jackson Schultz captured the final spot in a tough match, 7-6 (4), 5-7, 10-6.
