Teutopolis Wins Mattoon Tournament; St. Anthony Sixth at Bloomington Invitational

(THE TEUTOPOLIS GIRLS TENNIS TEAM)

Teutopolis won the Mattoon Invitational Girls Tennis Tournament on Saturday.

The Teutopolis JV team placed third overall in the 16-team tournament.

In #1 singles, varsity team member Julian Hemmen placed fourth, while JV team member Allie Ruholl tied for fifth place.

Varsity player Abbie Lee was champion of the #2 singles bracket and JV team member Molly Habing placed fourth.

In the #1 doubles bracket, varsity team members Olivia Hemmen and Anna Probst were champions, and Adi Davidson and Kelsey Niemerg of the JV team placed second; it was a T-Town vs. T-Town final.

Jada Buehnerkemper and Ella Wermert of the varsity squad were champions of the #2 doubles bracket, and Sami Habing and Lily Stortzum of the JV squad tied for fifth place. 

Effingham finished fifth with 13-1/2 points.

St. Anthony placed sixth as a team at Saturday's Bloomington Purple Invitational Tournament.

Dunlap won the 14-team event.

For St. Anthony:

Emily Kowalke in #1 singles went 3-1; Julia Schultz in #2 singles went 1-2; Mia Kinkelaar and Ellie Link in #1 doubles went 2-2 and finished fourth; Liv Hoene and Nora Trupiano in #2 doubles finished 3-1; and Gabby Kabbes and Anna Greene in #3 doubles finished 1-2.
