(Wimbledon, England) -- Five-time champion Venus Williams will not play at Wimbledon next week. She has withdrawn from the third major of the tennis season with a back injury, ending her streak of 16 consecutive appearances at the prestigious Grand Slam event.

The former World number-one turned 33 Monday and has been plagued by injury and health problems in recent years.
