Former world number one tennis champion Andy Murray had a very bad, no good day in Madrid Thursday.

He was defeated by 164th-ranked Andrea VavassoriI 6-2, 7-6 (7) in the first round at the Madrid Open.

Mirra Andreeva, age 15, defeated 14th-ranked Beatriz Haddad Maia 7-6 (6), 6-3 to advance to the third round at the Madrid Open on Thursday.

A day earlier, she defeated 2021 U.S. Open finalist Leyla Fernandez in her first tour-level win.
