Mia Kinkelaar Takes Second At Purple Gold Tennis Tourney

BLOOMINGTON -- Effingham St. Anthony's Mia Kinkelaar captured second place in the No. 5 singles at the Bloomington Purple Gold Tennis Tournament during the weekend.

Kinkelaar won her opening match 6-2, 6-0 then claimed the second contest 6-2, 6-1 and won 6-2, 6-3 putting her into the championship match where she fell 6-2, 6-2 to take second.

Emily Kowalke finished fifth at No. 1 singles while Liv Hoene tied for fifth at No. 2 and Madelyn Brown finished fifth at No. 6 singles.

In doubles play, Kowalke and Hoene tied for fifth at No. 2 doubles while Madelyn Brown and Laura Schmidt tied for fifth at No. 3 doubles.
