Effingham St. Anthony handed Effingham an 8-1 loss in girls tennis action Tuesday.

The Bulldogs' Emily Kowalke was a winner over Madison Mapes, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Effingham's Aila Woomer claimed the No. 2 spot over Liv Hoene, 6-1, 5-7, 10-8.

The Bulldogs then took the next four singles matches as Laura Schmdit downed Izzy Volpi, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3, Ellie Link won over Gracie Kroenlein, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4, Mia Kinkelaar downed Ella Seaman, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 and Madelyn Brown had a hard-fought win over Kaitlyn Parker, 2-6, 7-6 (3), 10-5.

In doubles play, the Bulldogs swept. Link and Kinkelaar won at No. 1 over Woomer-Volpi, 6-1, 6-3. Kowalke and Hoene downed Mapes and Kroenlein, 6-1, 6-1. Brown and Schmidt won over Parker and Seaman, 6-1, 6-1.
