St. Anthony Competes at Alton Tournament

St. Anthony competed Saturday at the Alton Tournament.

Here's a rundown on how the girls fared:

#1 Singles--Emily Kowalke lost to Elena David of Cor Jesu Academy 2-6, 2-6; defeated Lauren Blosser of Lafayette 6-0, 6-0, and then defeated Ruthie Manor of Highland 8-3 to finish fifth

#2 Singles--Liv Hoene lost to Angela Hong of Cor Jesu Academy 0-6, 0-6; then defeated Maya Pollard of Highland 6-1, 6-1; then beat Arely Onate of Collinsville 6-0, 6-2 to finish fifth

#1 Doubles--Ellie Link and Mia Kinkelaar defeated Politte and Franks of Lafayette 7-5, 7-6 (5); then beat Fleming and Crask of Highland 7-5, 2-6, 10-2; then lost to Speer and Hartoin of Triad 1-6, 3-6 to finished second

#2 Doubles--Madelyn Brown and Annie Strullmyer lost to Trost and Mehta of Lafayette 2-6, 5-7, then beat Spaethe and Inampudi of Lafayette 6-1, 6-3; then lost to Ruffino and Mikhail of Cor Jesu Academy to finish sixth

#3 Doubles--Karli Jones and Evitt Nashed lost, then won, then lost and placed 10th
