Wooden Shoes Claim Greenville Tennis Tourney Title

GREENVILLE -- Teutopolis High School captured the championship of the Greenville Tennis Tournament during weekend action.

The two doubles teams captured first place. At the No. 1 spot, Kolten Tabbert and Ethan Thoele combined to take first. The pair defeated a Greenville squad, 8-2, blanked a HIllsboro duo 8-0 and won over Flora, 8-1.

The No. 2 team, Colin Habing and Josh Habing, combined to beat a Greenville squad, 8-1, also blank a Hillsboro squad 8-0 and won 8-1 over a Flora pair.

In the No. 2 singles spot, Oliver Lee defeated Gabe Dickenson of Greenville 8-1, won over Kyle Butler of Hillsboro 8-0 and downed Brody Sharp of Flora 8-5 to finish first.

At the No. 1 singles spot, Carter Davidson fell to Elusha Golovay of Greenville, 8-2 but came back to defeat Ethan Schriber of Hillsboro 8-4. He then fell to Bobby Powless of Flora 8-2 to finish third.
