EHS Downs C-W, T-town Beats Flora In Tennis

Effingham High School handed Casey-Westfield a 7-2 loss in tennis competition Monday.

The Hearts were winners in five of the six singles contests. Thad Dillow blanked his opponent at No. 1, 6-0, 6-0. Blayne Pals won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-1. Tyler Nohren took the No. 3 spot, 6-1, 6-2.

Preston Siner claimed No. 4, 7-6 (5), 2-6, 10-8 and Evan Pryor finished out with a victory at No. 5, 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles play, Dillow and Nohren combined to win easily, 6-0, 6-0. Pryor and Ross Schafer  went 6-1, 0-6, 10-8 for their victory at No. 3.

At Casey

No. 1 -- Thad Dillow (E) defeated Brian Wright (CW), 6-0, 6-0

No. 2 -- Blayne Pals (E) defeated Grant Cochonour (CW), 6-3, 6-1

No. 3 -- Tyler Nohren (E) defeated Logan Cribelar (CW), 6-1, 6-2

No. 4 -- Preston Siner (E) defeated Avery Tutewiler (CW), 7-6 (5), 2-6, 10-8

No. 5 -- Evan Pryor (E) defeated Jacobo Munoz (CW), 6-3, 6-1

No. 6 -- Owen Richardson (CW) defeated Ross Schaefer (E), 6-3, 6-1

No. 1 -- Dillow-Nohren (E) defeated Cochonour-Cribelar (CW), 6-0, 6-0

No. 2 -- Wright-Tutewiler (CW) defeated Siner-Pals (E), 6-2, 6-4

No. 3 -- Pryor-Schaefer (E) defeated Munoz-Richardson (CW), 6-1, 0-6, 10-8

 

At Flora

Teutopolis picked up a 7-2 victory over Flora in action Monday.

The Wooden Shoes took five of the six singles contests. Josh Habing won at the No. 2 spot and had a battle. The opener went to Flora 6-4 but Habing came back with 6-1, 1-0 (10-8) scores for the victory. Colin Habing won at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1. Carter Davidson took the No. 4 spot, 7-5, 6-2.

Hayden Jansen was a winner at No. .5, 6-3, 6-2 and Oliver Lee won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6.

In doubles play, Kolten Tabbert and Lee combined to win at No. 2, 6-3, 6-4. Kendall Schmidt and Gus Siemer claimed the No. 3 spot, 6-3, 6-2.
