Hearts Defeat Tigers, 6-3 In Tennis Action

Effingham High School downed Paris 6-3 in tennis competition Thursday.

The Hearts were winners in four of the six singles matches as Thad Dillow took the top spot by blanking Fox Woods, 6-0, 6-0.

Preston Siner was a 7-5, 6-3 winner over Harris Romero at the No. 4 spot.

Tyler Nohren and Ross Schaefer had to battle but came out the winners at No. 3 and No. 5. Nohren won over Ean McConkey, 6-4, 7-6 (6) while Schaefer was a 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 winner over Marcus Mitchell.

In doubles play, Dillow and Blayne Pals were winners at the No. 1 position, 8-6. Nohren and Siner then combined to capture the No. 2 victory, 8-5.
