Bulldogs Blank Maroa-Forysth, T-town Wins Over Salem

In tennis action Wednesday, Effingham St. Anthony High School blanked Maroa-Forysth, 9-0.

Singles victories went to Manaye Mossman in a 6-2, 6-3 match; Aidan Tegeler blanked his opponent, 6-0, 6-0; Evan Mossman and Adam Rudebaugh won, 6-0, 6-1; Isaac McDonald downed his oponenint 6-3, 6-1 and Bryant Mossman claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

In doubles play, M. Mossman and Tegeler combined at No. 1 while Rudebaugh and McDonald were partners at No. 2 to both win 8-0. B. Mossman and Roberto Valdez claimed an 8-3 victory.

In the junior varsity match St. Anthony wa sa 5-0 winner.

At Maroa

No. 4 -- Adam Rudebaugh (SA) defeated Caleb Burmeister (MF), 6-0, 6-1

No. 5 -- Isaac McDonald (SA) defeated Jerrott Albert (MF), 6-3, 6-1

No. 6 -- Bryant Mossman (SA) defeated Usman Quershi (MF), 6-1, 6-2

No. 1 -- M. Mossman-Tegeler (SA) defeated Hubbard-Gentle (MF), 8-0

No. 2 -- Rudebaugh-McDonald (SA) defeated Jatoi-Albert (MF), 8-0

No. 3 -- B. Mossman-Valdez (SA) defeated Malek Qidou-Hasan Qidou (MF), 8-3

 

At Salem

In a Tuesday contest, Teutopolis picked up a tough 6-3 win over host Salem.

The Wooden Shoes nabbed five of the six singles matches. Ethan Thoele was a winner at No. 2, 6-4, 6-0. Kolten Tabbert took the next match 6-2, 7-6 (3). Carter Davidson was a 6-4, 6-4 winner. Hayden Jansen battled for the victory, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) and Oliver Lee also had a tough fight in a 3-6, 7-6 (5), 1-0 (10-3) match.

In doubles play, Tabbert and Colin Habing were winners, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-3) in another epic battle. Paul Niemerg and Ethan Thoele fell in a tough fight at No. 2, 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-0).

At Salem
