Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina, who’s ranked 15th in the world, said Monday that she’s withdrawing from the Monterrey Open, because she was supposed to face a Russian player, Anastasia Potapova, in the first round today.

She stated, however, that she doesn’t blame the Russian athletes. The reigning Olympic bronze medalist has pledged to give tournament prize money to support the Ukrainian army and humanitarian needs.
