T-town's Macy Probst-Isabelle Hemmen, St. Anthony's Emily Kowalke Still Alive In State Tournament

Macy Probst and Isabelle Hemmen from Teutopolis are making waves at the Class 1A State Girls Tennis Tournament in the Chicago area.
The pair have picked up three straight victories and will head into play Friday, still in the winner bracket competition.
Probst and Hemmen defeated Catherine Engels-Ava Lannen (LaSalle-Peru), 6-1, 6-1; Aleena Ciezak-Kelsey Collins (Crystal Lake Prairie Ridge), 6-0, 6-0 and Josie Hotsinpiller-Ava Towne (Danville), 6-0, 6-2.
The only other local player still in the tournament is Effingham St. Anthony's Emily Kowalke. Kowalke fell in the first round to Brooklyn Sigel of Chicago Wolcott, 6-1, 6-1. She dropped into consolation bracket play where she defeated Amelia Hardimon of Mascoutah 6-0, 6-1 and Madison Eastin of Flora, 6-3, 6-2 and then defeated Lily Randolph of Chatham Glenwood 6-0, 6-1. In the third consolation round, Kowalke downed Lily Randolph of Chatham Glenwood, 6-0, 6-1.
Grace Hoene of Teutopolis competed in singles play and fell to Maddy Swisher of Champaign St. Thomas More, 6-3, 6-1 and left tournament play with a loss to Alex Monroe of Mundelein Carmel, 6-4, 7-5.
In doubles play, T-town's Lexi Will and Olivia Hemmen also exited the tourney with two losses. The pair fell to Karen Speer-Sami Hartoin of Troy Triad, 7-5, 7-5 and in the consolation bracket lost to Elen Ryson-Maddie Hoeden of Wheaton St. Francis, 6-2, 6-0.
Effingham's Lydia Kull and Aila Woomer also are out of the tournament. The pair lost to Shikha Agarwal-Meghrian of Dunlap, 6-1, 6-1 before falling to Audery Litfin-Jillian Paulson of West Chicago Wheaton Academy, 7-5, 6-2.
The tourney continues Friday and will end with finals Saturday.
