T-town Finishes Fourth, St. A 12th In Centennial Tennis Invitational

CHAMPAIGN -- Teutopolis High School claimed fourth place while Effingham St. Anthony was 12th in the Champaign Centennial Girls Tennis Invitational Saturday.

Belleville East won with 26.5 points followed by Wheaton Warrenville South No. 1 26, O'Fallon 25, T-town 19.5, Danville 18.5, Belleville West 13, Lincoln-Way East 13, Peoria Notre Dame 10, Central 8.5, Dunlap 7, Wheaton Warrenville South  No. 2 5, St. Anthony 4, Centennial 3, Urbana 0 and St. Joseph 0.

The Wooden Shoes' Macy Probst and Isabelle Hemmen won the No. 1 doubles championship. The pair defeated a pair from Lincoln-Way East then won over Centennial and finally Wheaton Warrenville South No. 1. In the title contest, the duo defeated Belleville West,

The Shoes' Julie Hemmen took third place in the No. 2 singles while Grace Hakman finished in a fifth place tie in the No. 1 singles.

T-town's Lexi Will and Olivia Hemmen played three matches at No. 2 doubles

St. Anthony claimed three wins in No. 1 doubles and one win in No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, St. Anthony's Emily Kowalke picked up one victory.

Ali Adams fell in her opener in No. 2 singles but won then fell in the third match.
