After leaving the French Open following her first round match two-and-a-half weeks ago, Naomi Osaka, who’s ranked Number 2 in the world, said Thursday she’ll also be skipping Wimbledon, which begins later this month.

However, Osaka does plan to compete in the Tokyo Olympics later this summer in Japan, the country she represents, with her agent saying she’s “taking some personal time with friends and family.”

Also sitting out Wimbledon will be Rafael Nadal, the world’s third-ranked man, who announced on social media that he was skipping Wimbledon and the Olympics to rest and recover “after listening to my body.”

Osaka withdrew after being fined $15,000 when she didn’t speak to reporters as required after her first-match victory, citing protection of her mental health.
