Charleston defeated Teutopolis 8-1 Thursday in boys Apollo Conference tennis action.
The Shoes' lone win came in #4 singles, where Josh Habing defeated Charleston's Ashton Fifield 6-0, 6-4.
Paul Niemerg lost in #1 singles, 6-0, 6-1; Kolton Tabbert fell in #2 singles 6-2, 6-3; Gus Siemer lost in #3 singles 6-1, 6-1; Hayden Jansen in #5 singles 6-2, 6-2; and Ryder Vahling fell in #6 singles 6-1, 6-0.
All three doubles teams lost...Habing and Tabbert 7-5, 6-3 in #1s, Niemerg and Siemer 7-5, 6-0 in #2s, and Myles Stortzum and Carter Davidson 6-2, 6-4 in #3s.
At St. Thomas
Effingham St. Anthony blanked St. Thomas, 9-0 in Thursday competition.
Winning in singles for the Bulldogs were Aidan Tegeler (8-0), Evan Mossman (8-1), Harry Kemme (8-1), Isaac McDonald 8-1), Bryant Mossman (8-3) and Matt Herzing (8-2).
In doubles play, Tegeler and Kemme were 8-0 winners. McDonald and Herzing won 8-3 and E. Mossman and B. Mossman claimed an 8-2 victory.
