Charleston High School handed Effingham an 8-1 loss in tennis competition Friday.

The lone point for the Hearts came at No. 1 singles as Thad Dillow downed Vince DiNaso, 6-4, 6-2.

The Hearts had two close matches in doubles play. At the No. 1 spot, Dillow and Blayne Pals won the opener 6-4 but Charleston came back with 6-4, 12-10 sets for the match. At the No. 3 spot, Dane Seiler and Isaiah Rubin won their opener 7-5 before Charleston took the match, 6-1, 10-3.
