EHS, St. Anthony Drop Tennis Matches

PARIS -- Effingham St. Anthony High School traveled to Paris and dropped a 7-0 tennis match to the host Tigers Tuesday.

Paris took five singles matches as Maxwell Holloway, Jacob Randolph, Nathan Minnis, Noah Holzer and Cabb Lawson were winners.

In doubles play, the Tigers won two matches as Randolph and Helzer won 6-1, 6-2 while Holloway and Lawson combined to win 6-0, 6-0.

At Paris

Singles

No. 1 -- Maxwell Holloway (P) defeated Augustus Heal (SA), 6-1, 6-0

No. 2 -- Jacob Randolph  (P) defeated Michael Kaldas (SA), 6-0, 6-0

No. 3 -- Nathan Minnis (P) defeated Nick Goeckner (SA), 6-0, 6-1

No. 4 -- Noah Holzer (P) defeated Will Kabbes (SA), 6-2, 6-4

No. 5 -- Cabb Lawson (P) defeated Derek Kruger (SA), 6-0, 6-1

Doubles

No. 1 -- Randolph-Holzer (P) defeated Heal-Goeckner (SA), 6-1, 6-2

No. 2 -- Holloway-Lawson (P) defeated Kaldas-Kabbes (SA), 6-0, 6-0

 

At Effingham

Effingham dropped a 9-0 match to Olney in action Tuesday.

Felix Pajonk, Austin Atwood, Adam Brewer, Jacob Taylor, Jack Bettis and Cade McDowell were winners for Olney in singles play.

In doubles action Tanner Hendrickson and Bettis combined to win at No.1 while McDowell and Taylor took the No. 2 victory. Jaedyn Moyes and Seth Ingram were winners at  No. 3

EHS drops to 2-1 on the season.

At Effingham

No. 2 -- Austin Atwood (O) defeated Parker Siner (E), 7-6 (75), 6-0, 6-4

No. 3 -- Adam Brewer (O) defeated Ben Donsbach (E), 6-2, 6-2

No. 4 -- Jacob Taylor (O) defeated Brennan Barr (E), 6-3, 6-2

No. 5 -- Jack Bettis (O) defeated Noah Mulheron (E), 6-2, 6-3

No. 6 -- Cade McDowell (O) defeated Colby Heaton (E), 6-2, 6-0

Doubles

No. 1 -- Tanner Hendrickson-Bettis (O) defeated Donsbach-Siner (E), 6-2, 6-2

No. 2 -- McDowell-Taylor (O) defeated Barr-Linders (E), 6-2, 6-0
