Teutopolis Edges Newton 5-4 to Remain Unbeaten

Teutopolis stayed unbeaten in girls tennis Thursday, but Newton pushed them to the max.

Teutopolis edged Newton 5-4.

In singles, Jacelyn Street of Newton defeated Julia Hardiek of Teutopolis 6-1, 6-4 in the #1s and Sydney Zumbahlen of Newton defeated Lauren Hemmen of Teutopolis in the #2s 6-4, 6-2, but Teutopolis took the rest of the singles matches; Alli Brumleve over Lesley Woods 6-1, 6-1; Diana Mossman over Allison Harris 6-1, 7-5; Nicole Deters over Keri Zumbahlen 6-2, 6-2; and Elizabeth Will over Chelsea Black 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles, Teutopolis' Lauren Hemmena nd Alli Brumleve won the #1s over Jacelyn Street and Allison Harris 7-6(4), 6-4, but Newton won the #2 and #3 doubles; Sydney Zumbahlen and Lesley Woods over Diana Mossman and Nicole Deters 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3, and Keri Zumbahlen and Claire Griffith over Maria Vahling and Elizabeth Will 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.

Teutopolis improved to 11-0 this fall.
