EHS Drops Match to C-W, T-town Beats Charleston

CASEY -- Effingham High School fell to host Casey-Westfield 7-2 in tennis competition Wednesday.
The Hearts picked up the No. 2 singles victory as Lauryn Douthit won 6-1, 6-1.
EHS also scored in doubles play. Chloe Funneman and Douthit combined to win 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot.

No. 1 -- Elizabeth Eckerly (CW) defeated Chloe Funneman (E), 6-2, 7-6
No. 2 -- Lauryn Douthit (E) defeated Julia Herrera (CW), 6-1, 6-1

No. 4 -- Addie Squires (CW) defeated Taylor Boyle (E), 6-4, 6-2

No. 3 -- Shaffer-Eckerty (CW) defeated Boyle-Lewis (E), 6-2, 4-6, 10-7
At Teutopolis
Teutopolis High School pushed its unbeaten mark to 10-0 with a 7-2 win over Charleston Thursday.
Julia Hardiek, Lauren Hemmen and Alli Brumleve were all 6-0, 6-0 winners in the top three singles spots. Diana Mossman went out at 6-1, 6-0 while Nicole Deters was a 6-3, 6-4 winner.
In doubles play, T-town took the top two spots. Hemmen and Brumleve combined to win 6-1, 6-1. Mossman and Deters took the next victory 6-2, 6-1.
