EHS, T-town Blank Tennis Opponents

Effingham High School handed Salem an 8-0 loss in tennis action Monday.
In singles play, Chloe Funneman was a 6-3, 6-0 winner. Lauryn Douthit picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2. Skyler Schafer downed her opponent 6-3, 6-3. The No. 4 match with Caroline Kull was rained out. Taylor Boyle won 6-2, 6-1 and Riley Arend 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles play, Funneman and Douthit combined to blank their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Schafer and Kull won 6-0, 6-3 while Boyle and Arend finished the sweep at 6-1, 6-1.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis pushed its unbeaten record to 6-0 by blanking Mattoon 9-0 in action Monday.
Alli Brumleve and Diana Mossman went 6-0, 6-0 in singles against their opponents. Julia Hardiek was a 6-1, 6-0 winner. Nicole Deters claimed a 6-0, 6-4 victory. Lauren Hemmen won 6-2, 6-4 and Elizabeth Will 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles play, Hemmen and Brumleve combined to win 6-2, 6-1, while Mossman and Deters and Will and Maria Vahling all went 6-1, 6-1 to pick up doubles wins.
