Teutopolis Players Pick Up Wins At State Tennis Meet

Teutopolis High School's Kyele Mossman is still alive and competing in the Class 1A State Tennis Meet.
Mossman opened play Thursday with a victory over Brandon Bodak of Rockford Keith Country Day, 6-1, 6-3. Mossman then fell to Raymond Richardson, also of Rockford Keith Country Day, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Mossman came back in the second round consolation to win over Harrison Hines of Decatur MacArthur, 6-3, 6-2. He will now play a third round consolation match against Thomas Moh of Normal University today.
Joseph Esker, also competing in singles for the Wooden Shoes, exited the tournament with two losses. Esker fell to Dorath Chamarthi of Normal University, 6-0, 6-0. In first round consolation, Adam Pycior of Rockford Boylan Catholic ended Esker's stay in the tournament, 6-3, 6-2.
T-town also has a doubles team competing. Noah Pals and Alex Probst opened with a victory over Josh Cassaro and Tommy Linkenheld of Belvidere North, 6-4, 6-3. In the second round, Pals and Probst fell to Josh Friesen and Carter Burk of Normal University, 6-0, 6-0.
The pair then faced Casey-Westfield's Christian Cochonour-Patrick Hacker in second round consolation and won 6-1, 6-0. The duo now faces Joe Palakeel and Nicklas Nelson of Aurora Illinois Math and Science Academy in the third round consolation today.
