Effingham Downs Newton In Tennis Action

Effingham High School tallied a 7-2 victory over Newton in tennis competition Tuesday.
The Hearts took five of the six singles wins. Alessandro Boca took the No. 1 spot, 6-4, 6-2. Nick Katz won at No. 3, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Nate Linders finished with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 4. Nick Beck took the No. 5 spot, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 and Ben Donsbach claimed No. 6, 6-2, 6-0.
Newton's Holden Kerner was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at No. 2.
In doubles play, Newton won at No. 1 as Ethan Carter and Kerner downed their opponents, 6-2, 6-1. Effingham's Boca-N. Linders won at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2. Donsbach and Parker Siner finished with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
The Hearts improve to 4-5.
