Charleston Downs St. A In Tennis

CHARLESTON -- Charleston High School played host to Effingham St. Anthony and edged the Bulldogs 5-4 in tennis competition Tuesday.

The two squads split in singles action. St. Anthony's Liam Hammer won at No. 1, 6-2, 6-1 while Augustus Heal claimed No. 4, 6-0, 6-4. Nick Goeckner took the No. 6 spot, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

In doubles, St. Anthony claimed only the top spot as Ryan Kruger and Hammer combined to win 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
