St. Anthony Beats Olney in Tennis

OLNEY -- Effingham St. Anthony High School easily handled Olney 8-1 in girls tennis action Wednesday.
Emilee Mossman tallied a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles while Kelly Rentfrow won 6-0, 6-1. Megan Hodge took a 6-1, 6-3 win. Madison McWhorter battled to a win at No. 5, 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-3. Catherine Willenborg won 6-0, 6-2 to finish out singles play.
In doubles action, Rentfrow and Claire Wortman took the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-4. Mossman and Mary Claire Wegman blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Maryann Saba and Hodge won 6-0, 6-1.
"There were good matches," said St. Anthony Coach Darlene Esker. "It was a nice preparation for the upcoming sectionals."
