T-town Wins Over EHS

Teutopolis picked up varsity and junior varsity tennis match wins over Effingham Thursday.
In the varsity contest, Teutopolis downed the Hearts 7-2 to improve to 3-0 on the season.
"This was a good start to the season," said T-town Coach Kaye Kimpling. "I believe we have a pretty good team from the top all through the lineup."
In singles play, T-town's Holley Wright, Allison Vogt, Cheyenne Lueken, Megan Miller and Kaitlin Deters were winners. Effingham's lone win came at the No. 1 spot as Lauren Hoekstra won. In doubles play, T-town's Breer-Wright won at No. 1 while Morgan Drees and Ashley Hemmen claimed the No. 3 spot. Effingham's Hoekstra and Claudia Vinvela-Ayllon won.
In the junior varsity contest, Teutopolis won 6-0. In singles play, T-town's Kylie Oseland and Charlotte Wente were winners. In doubles action, Kara Schwinke-Heather Dust, Taylor Deters/Alissa Apke, Kylie Oseland/Olivia Gebben and Taylor Hartke/Sarah Thoele won.
"The girls played very well tonight and will be playing in Robinson Monday," said T-town Coach Debbie Stephens.
