Bulldogs, Shoes Blank Opponents in Tennis, Hearts Drop Match

Effingham St. Anthony played host to Paris and blanked the Tigers 10-0 in tennis competition Tuesday.
In singles play, Jay Niebrugge was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at the No. 1 spot. Alec Niebrugge and Chris Jones went 6-0, 6-1 to beat their opponents. Ian Harris blanked Josh Kenderdne 6-0, 6-0. Andy Saba and Tommy Schottman claimed 6-1, 6-2 wins in the final two singles spots.
In doubles play, J. Niebrugge and A. Niebrugge picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at the top doubles spot. Jones and Saba combined to blank their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Chandler Martelli and Kyle Hartke won at No. 3, 6-3, 7-5. Schottman and Kroeger went 10-2 at No. 4.
The Bulldogs are now a perfect 4-0 on the season.

Effingham picked up only one victory in singles play and that led to a 5-4 defeat at the hands of Olney Tuesday.
The Hearts' Aaron Conley was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at the No. 2 singles spot.
In doubles play, EHS swept. Jared Minor and Conley combined to win 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-4. Ashton Haythrone and Marshall King were 6-2, 6-3 winners at NO. 2. Drake Hill and Matt Linders won 6-4, 6-4.

Andy Mersman went 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles spot. Nick Pals, Jacob Mette and Christian Deters blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Mitch Meinhart was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 3. Trevor Lee was a 6-0, 6-1 winner.
In doubles play, Mersman and Pals combined to win 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1. Lee and Mette won 6-1, 6-1. Deters and Noah Pals went 6-1 6-3 for their win.
T-town is now unbeaten at 5-0.
In junior varsity play, T-town beat Robinson 9-0.
