MOUNT ZION -- Effingham St. Anthony traveled to Mount Zion and handed the Braves a 6-3 loss in tennis competition Monday evening.
Jay Niebrugge captured the No. 1 singles spot, 6-3, 6-1 for the Bulldogs. Chris Jones won at No. 3, 6-4, 6-3. Jeff Niebrugge took the No. 5 spot, 6-1, 6-2 while Andy Saba claimed No. 6, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, J. Niebrugge and Alec Niebrugge combined to win 6-0, 6-3. Jeff Niebrugge and Saba were winners at No. 3, 6-2, 6-1.
The Bulldogs are now 2-0 on the season.

Teutopolis blanked Casey-Westfield 8-1 to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Trevor Lee took the No. 2 singles spot, 7-6, 6-3 while Jacob Mette won at No. 3, 7-6, 6-0. Christian Deters was a 6-2, 6-0 winner. Joseph Esker lost the opener 6-3 but came back with 7-6, 6-2 scores for the win at No. 5. Tyler Broom finished out the singles wins at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, Andy Mersman and Nick Pals combined to win 6-2, 6-2. Lee and Mette claimed No. 2, 6-1, 6-2. Meinhart and Noah Pals took the final spot, 6-0, 6-1.
