SALEM -- Effingham High School fell to Salem 6-3 in an Apollo Conference tennis match Monday.
The Hearts three points came from two singles wins and a doubles victory. In singles play, Tori Sims was a winner 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 5 while Savannah Blake won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6.
In doubles, Sims combined with Ashley Workman to win 6-0, 6-4.
At Salem

No. 2 -- Ashley West (S) defeated Shelby Funneman (E), 6-2, 4-6, 6-4

At Mattoon
Teutopolis saw its record fall to 3-4 with a 7-2 loss to Mattoon Monday evening.
The two wins for the Wooden Shoes came at No. 3 singles as Audra Breer won 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 and at No. 1 doubles as Christa Schwinke-Breer won 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.
The Shoes drop to 3-4 on the season.
