EHS Claims Tennis Match, St. A, T-town Lose

Effingham captured an 8-1 victory over Paris in high school tennis action Thursday.
In the singles matches, the Hearts claimed five of six as Emma Kull, Megan Allen, Kyra Bannister, Tori Sims, and Miranda Johnson were winners.
In doubles play, the Hearts swept. Allen and Bannister were winners, 8-4 at No. 1. Kull and Blake claimed the No. 2 victory, 8-4. Sims and Ashley Workman were winners, 8-2.

At Flora
St. Anthony traveled to Flora Thursday and the Wolves weren't very nice hosts, taking an 8-1 victory in varsity action.
The Bulldogs lone point came at No. 1 doubles as Kenzie Jennings and Allison Carder won 6-4, 6-4.
"It was a good match," said St. Anthony Coach Darlene Esker. "It was long points and games."
In junior varsity play, Flora was a winner 5-3.

Mount Zion edged Teutopolis 5-4 as the Wooden Shoes drop to 3-3 on the season.
The Shoes' Audra Breer was a winner at the No. 3 singles, 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (5). Taylor Hartke picked up the victory at No. 5, 6-4, 6-4.
T-town then took two of the three doubles matches. Kaitlin Deters and Lauren Hemmen were winners at No. 2, 6-2, 7-6 (5) and Allison Apke and Claire Hemmen combined to win at No. 3, 6-0, 6-0.
