Hearts Take First, T-town Third at Robinson Tennis Doubles Invitational

Effingham High School captured the Robinson Doubles Tennis Invitational Saturday.
ROBINSON -- Effingham claimed the championship of the Robinson Doubles Tennis Invitational Saturday with 18 points as the Hearts won the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles titles.
The Hearts were followed by Robinson 8.5, Teutopolis 8, Mattoon 7.5, Olney 5.5, Paris 2 and Newton 1.
Isaac Foreman and Aaron Meyers were the No. 1 doubles championsihp. The pair had an opening round bye, then defeated a Paris duo and won the championship over Robinson's Buchanan-White.
In the No. 2 doubles, Jason Wohltman and Jared Minor claimed the title. The pair also had a first round bye then beat T-town's Weber/Funneman and won the title over Vieth-Masse of Mattoon.
In the No. 3 doubles, Wyatt Wohltman and Parth Maheshwari opened with a win over Newton's Vahling/Dhom then downed T-town's Lee/Mette. In the title match, the EHS duo won over D. Walker/Hoestter of Olney.
For Teutopolis, Andy Mersman/Nick Pals took third place at No. 1 doubles, while Keith Weber/Jay Funneman finished fourth at No. 2. Trevor Lee and Jacob Mette took third at No. 3.
