EHS Captures Charger Doubles Title, T-town Fourth, St. A 10th

Al four of Effingham's doubles teams are on the courts at the same time playing for championships at the Champaign Charger Doubles Invitational.
CHAMPAIGN -- Effingham High School captured the championship of the Champaign Charger Doubles Tennis Invitational Saturday.
The Hearts tallied 30 points followed by Champaign Centennial 26, O'Fallon 24.5, Teutopolis 17.5, Pekin 11.5, Centralia 10.5, Mattoon 10, Bloomington Central Catholic 9, Urbana University High 8.5, St. Anthony 8, Olney 7, Alton 6, Robinson 4.5, Charleston 4, Normal West 4 and Blomington 3.
All four of Effingham's doubles teams were on the courts at the same time playing in the championship match of their respective ranking.
Jason Wohltman and Jared Minor claimed the championship at the No. 2 doubles. The pair went through doubles teams from Centralia, Olney, Champaign Centennial and O'Fallon to capture the title.
Isaac Foreman and Aaron Meyers took second place at No. 1 while Parth Maheshwari and Wyatt Wohltman finished second at No. 3 and Aaron Conley and Drake Hill finished second at No. 4.
St. Anthony's No. 1 doubles team of Scott Rentfrow and Jay Niebrugge finished third.
T-town's Keith Weber and Jay Funneman took third at No. 4 while Andy Mersman and Noah Pals finished fourth at No. 2 and Kyle Brumleve and Nick Pals tied for fifth place at No. 1.
