T-town Edges Mount Zion In Tennis

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School edged Mount Zion 5-4 in tennis competition to remain unbeaten at 6-0 on the season Monday.

The Wooden Shoes claimed the top two singles spots as Kyle Brumleve won 6-2, 7-5 and Andy Mersman was a 6-4, 6-3 winner. Mount Zion took the next two spots. T-town then won at No. 5 and No. 6 as Jacob Mette claimed a 6-4, 6-1 victory and  Nick Ruholl won 7-5, 2-6, 6-4.

Iin doubles play, the Braves won at No. 1 and No. 3. T-town's Trevor Lee and Jacob Mette claimed a 10-5 victory at No. 2 to pull out the team win.

No. 1 -- Kyle Brumleve (TT) defeated Ryan Beavers (MZ), 6-2, 7-5

No. 2 -- Andy Mersman (TT) defeated Cole Evans (MZ), 6-4, 6-3

No. 3 -- Rafael Santos (MZ) defeated Nick Pals (TT), 6-2, 7-6

No. 4 -- Barrett Stone (MZ) defeated Trevor Lee (TT), 6-1, 6-1

No. 5 -- Jacob Mette (TT) defeated Tristan Balgemann (MZ), 6-4, 6-1

No. 6 -- Nick Ruholl (TT) defeated Evan Slunder (MZ), 7-5, 2-6, 6-4

Doubles

No. 1 -- Beavrs-Evans (MZ) defeated Brumleve-Pals (TT), 10-9

No. 2 -- Lee-Mette (TT) defeated Santos-Balgemann (MZ), 10-5

No. 3 -- Stone-Slunder (MZ) defeated Keith Weber-Jay Funneman (TT), 10-4
