The Effingham Heat girls softball team finished its 2013 season by participating in the Miss America Fall League in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Heat started their season the first week of June, playing doubleheaders through the week and tournaments on weekends.
"With all of these girls playing high school softball, we wanted to play a little stronger schedule and I thought we did that," said Coach Jeff Tonn. "Our goal has always been getting the girls prepared to play the level of high school softball."
The Heat finished second in the USSSA State Tournament, second in the NSA World Series Qualifier and third in the ASA State Tournament. Other tournaments they played in were NSA State and NSA World Series in Peoria. Players who participated were Jenna Wright, Parker Corder, Hannah Dulany, Kaylee Tonn, Alexis Sullivan, Jenna Woltman, Raegan Drees, Hope Collier, Cameryn Heuerman, Shayna Phillips, Casey Jennings and Olivia Hickey.
