EJHS Splits at Teutopolis Tourney

Effingham Junior High School picked up a win and suffered a loss in the Teutopolis Softball Tournament Saturday. T-town dropped two.
The Mustangs fell to Flora 3-1. Effingham led 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth then Flora took the lead for good.
Effingham had only two hits, singles by Vanessa Ramos and Ashlyn Hanks.
The Mustangs then defeated Teutopolis 7-3. They took a 4-2 lead in the third then tacked on three more runs in the fourth. Miranda Fox had two singles and two RBI for the winners. Armstrong pitched a three-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Flora trounced Teutopolis 16-6 in six innings. Flora had nine hits while T-town committed four errors. T-town drops to 4-10 on the season.

Monday's Game
Effingham played host to Charleston in Monday action and fell 4-3.
Charleston held a 3-1 lead after four innings and 4-1 after five. Effingham came back with single runs in the sixth and seventh only to fall short.
Effingham outhit Charleston 8-5. Aly Armstrong had three singles and an RBI and Vanessa Ramos a double.
