Effingham, T-town Score Big in Softball Wins

Effingham Junior High School trailed Centralia 6-0 after two innings then started a comeback with four runs in the third and took the lead with six in the fourth and went on for a 15-7 victory.
The Mustangs had 16 hits in the contest led by Miranda Fox with two singles, a double and two RBI, Aly Armstrong with a single, double and two RBI, Skylar Shafer with three singles and an RBI, Lauryn Douthit with a double, Kaitlyn Kinkelaar with a triple and an RBI and Ashlyn Hanks with a double.
Armstrong picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis put an end to the game early by scoring 15 runs in the first inning. The Wooden Booties went on to claim a 16-6 win over Shelbyville.
T-town had only eight hits but was aided by nine Shelbyville errors. Emma Beckman had a home run and three RBI while Morgan Mette had a double, triple and five RBI and Kara Weichman two singles and an RBI.
T-town is now 3-5 and will take on St. Anthony Monday at 4 p.m.
