Premier Athletic Club Nabs Girls Junior League Tourney Title

The Premier Athletic Club claimed the championship of the Girls Junior Softball League Tournament Thursday evening at Evergreen Hollow Park.
In the opening game, the PAC bounced Fonner Oral Surgery 16-1. The PAC took a 9-0 first inning lead and never looked back. Sarah Kirchhofer pitched the one-hitter.
In the second contest, Formaggio's claimed a 17-8 victory over Bahrn's Kubota. Bahrn's held a 5-4 opening inning lead but Formaggio's came back with three runs in the third and eight in the fourth. Both teams had six hits. Kaylee Newkirk was the winning pitcher.
The PAC and Formaggio's advanced to the championship game. The PAC took a 4-2 opening inning lead then tacked on a single run in the third and eight in the fourth for a 13-3 win.
The PAC had five hits in the contest. Kirchhofer picked up the four-hit pitching win.
Shelby Phillips (PAC) was named the league's most valuable player. Abby Meinhart (Fonner) claimed the sportsmanship award. Sarah Kirchhofer (PAC) won the tournament most valuable player award.
