Martin's, Heart & Home, Chesnut Claim Girls Minor League Tourney Wins

The Girls Minor Softball League Tournament opened play Monday evening at Evergreen Hollow Park.

In the opening game, Martin's IGA Plus defeated Evergreen Mini Golf 8-5. Martin's led from the start. Isabella Kronewitter pitched a no-hitter.

In the second game, Heart & Home Realty took a 5-0 first inning lead on First National Bank of Dieterich and went on for a 9-4 win. Allie Poe was the winning pitcher.

The final game of the evening saw Chesnut Family Music edge Get Fit Family Fitness 12-11. Both teams had five hits. Elizabeth Meinhart was the winning pitcher.

Martin's will square off against top-seeded Murphy USA tonight at 5:30 on the East Diamond while Heart & Home Realty will go against Chesnut Family Music, also at 5:30, on the West Diamond. The winners will then meet at 7:30 for the championship.
