Mount Zion held a 2-0 opening inning lead. The Mustangs tallied one in the second and moved ahead with two in the third. But Mount Zion came back with two runs in the fourth for a 4-3 lead.
Effingham then tied in the sixth and won the game with a four-run seventh.
The Mustangs Mady Hoffman had four hits to lead the way offensively. Hoffman had three singles, a double and drove in two runs. Elizabeth Kreke chipped in with a double, triple and two RBI while Miley Wilson added two doubles and an RBI. Kendyl Smith a double and two RBI while Liv Koester and Cloie Bailey added two singles each.
Kreke went the final three innings for the win in the mound. She gave up one hit and struck out three.

At Sigel
Sigel St. Michael hosted Effingham St. Anthony and sent the Bullpups home with a 14-2 loss in four innings Monday.
The Bullpups edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead but St. Michael tied the score in the second. St. Anthony held a 2-1 lead in the top of the third but St. Michael came roaring back with seven runs in the bottom of the frame then ended the game with a six-run fourth.
St. Michael's pitcher threw a no-hitter while the Sharpshooters had four hits in the contest.

At Dieterich
Dieterich and South Central were tied at 5-5 going into the bottom of the seventh Monday. Dieterich came through with the winning run for a 6-5 victory.
Dieterich had eight hits in the contest led by Claire Faller with a home run and two RBI. Kensi Stortzum added a triple and two RBI while Lexie Funneman contributed two singles and an RBI. Emery Bill added an RBI.
Stortzum came on in the fourth and went three innings for the win on the mound, allowing two runs on two hits, two walks while striking out four.
South Central was led in hitting by Skylar Webster with a single, triple and two RBI and Claire Chasteen with a double.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond moved into a 1-0 lead in the opening inning. But Neoga came back with a four-run second and never looked back, ending the contest in the sixth, 11-1.
Maleah Coy threw a two-hitter, allowing one run, one walk while striking out nine. Lola Hartke came on to throw the final inning with two strikeouts.
Neoga had 11 hits in the contest. Reyna Coy and Keeli McKay had a single, double and two RBI each. Lillian Denson added a double, Chloe Frankie three singles, Maddie Frankie two singles and an RBI, Hartke a single and an RBI and Coy and Kendall Jackson an RBI each.

North Clay/Clay City came calling and handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 25-14 loss in four innings Monday.
CHBC held a 2-1 lead in the opening inning but North Clay brought home nine runs in the second, 13 in the third and two in the fourth.
North Clay/Clay City had only three hits led by J. Jordan with a double and an RBI and E. Smith with a single and three RBI. B. Phillips had a single and two RBI, H. Clark three RBI, M. Compton two RBI and A. Sullens, M. McCarty and H. Casolari with an RBI each.
Compton was the winning pitcher going 3.1 innings, allowing 12 runs, nine hits, walking five and striking out three.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City pitchers gave up 15 walks.
CHBC was led in hitting by Anna Hart with two singles, a double and five RBI while Lyric Bennett had a single, double and an RBI. Harper Lilly had two singles and Alyson Lawrence a single and an RBI.
North Clay/Clay City drew 15 walks in the contest and improved to 1-1 in the National Trail Conference, 1-2 overall.

The Hatchets had 10 hits in the contest that included five for extra bases. K. Dunaway had a single, two triples and an RBI. R. Baker and K. Friese had a solo home run each while I. Manhart had a single, triple and three RBI. G. Bostedo had a single and three RBI and A Rincker and A. Clark had a single and an RBI each. K. Morris added an RBI.
C. Holland was the winning pitcher. She went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits, one walk while striking out nine.
