Altamont stepped out to a 6-1 opening inning lead and went on to pound North Clay (Louisville) by a 22-5 count in junior high softball action Friday.
The Wildcats stepped out to that quick lead and then tallied eight in the second. The game ended in the fourth.
Altamont had 12 hits led by B. Suckow with a double, triple and an RBI, A. Ruholl with three singles, a double and an RBI, K. Bauer and M. Tappendorf with a double and two RBI each and A. Ruffner with two singles and three RBI.
Suckow claimed the win in the mound, going four innings, allowing five runs on four hits, one walk while striking out six.
North Clay was led by G. Blair and M. McCarty with a single and an RBI each.

Dieterich banged out 14 hits and claimed an 11-7 victory over Paris Crestwood Friday.
C. Faller and L. Funneman had multiple hits for the Roadrunners. Faller finished with a double, two triples and three RBI while Funneman had four singles and three RBI. K. Tegeler added a double while L. Kreke and A. Benefiel finished with two singles each. Kreke had an RBI.
In a game Thursday, Dieterich was a 14-1 winner behind a 10-hit attack.
The Roadrunners held a 3-0 opening inning lead and ended the game in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule.
Faller had a single, home run and four RBI while E. Bill had two singles and an RBI and Kreke two singles. Stortzum added a single and two RBI.
