The Hearts tacked on four runs in the third and sixth innings and three in the fifth.
Mya Harvey led the way in the hitting department with a single, two doubles and four RBI. Jerzi Bierman chipped in with two singles and three RBI while Ryley Engel added a single, double and two RBI and Raegan Boone a single and double. Sidney Donaldson finished with a single and two RBI and Natalie Armstrong a single and an RBI.
The Hearts' Armstrong went the six innings, allowing no runs on four hits, one walk and striking out four.
Carbondale finished with four hits and two errors.

At Dieterich
Dieterich edged into a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning but South Central came back to move ahead 5-2 in the sixth and tacked on a final run in the seventh for a 6-2 win Friday.
The Cougars finished with nine hits and no errors in the contest. Taegan Webster struck out 12 Maroons and gave up five hits and two walks for the win on the mound.
Kyra Swift had a single, triple and three RBI for the winners. Kaitlyn Swift chipped in with two singles and an RBI. Kinlee Thompson and Amelia Montes added two singles each.
Dieterich was led by Kinli Michl with a double and two RBI and Ella Kreke with two singles.

At Newton
Newton played host to Champaign Central, Freeburg and Teutopolis during the weekend in a round robin.
The Eagles claimed a 4-3 victory over Champaign Central.
The two squads were tied at 2-2 after two innings. Central moved ahead 3-2 in the third and Newton tied in the fourth. The Eagles then won with a run in the top of the seventh.
Bailee Frichtl had three singles and drove in a run for Newton. Allie Hermann had two singles while Audrie Reich had a single and an RBI. Lilly Kessler did not have a hit but finished with two RBI.
Amelia Collins picked up the pitching win. She went the distance, allowing three runs on seven hits, two walks and striking out six.
Newton fell to Freeburg by a 2-1 count. The Eagles led 1-0 until the fifth when Freeburg tallied its two runs.
The Eagles outhit Freeburg 8-6.Reich and Avery Mulvey had a double each while Kessler had two singles.
Champaign Central edged Teutopolis, 5-4. The Wooden Shoes held a 2-1 lead until the fourth when Central scored three. T-town pulled within 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth but Central scored another run in the sixth. T-town finished out with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
Malea Helmink had two singles and two RBI for the Shoes while Mallory Bloemer had two singles. Olivia Hemmen and Alyssa Tipton had an RBI each.
The Shoes then fell to Freeburg, 3-2. T-town held a 2-0 lead until the bottom of the seventh when Freeburg scored all three runs to pull out the victory.
T-town had nine hits led by Summer Wall with a single and double, Bloemer and Olivia Copple with a double each and Cecilia Apke and Helmink with a single and an RBI each.

Arcola handed Cumberland an 11-9 loss in Saturday action.
The two teams were tied at 2-2 in the opening inning before Arcola ripped out five runs in the second and led 8-4 after four. The Pirates came back with four runs in the fifth and one in the six to pull within 10-9 but Arcola added on a final run in the seventh.
Jade Carr had three singles and two RBI for Cumberland. She stole four bases. Ashton Tolen had a double while Libby McGinnis and Shelby Kingery had two singles each. McKenzie Claybaugh had a single and two RBI and Jadalyn Sowers a single and two RBI.
