Jerzi Bierman had two singles for the Hearts while Sidney Donaldson and Natalie Armstrong had a single and an RBI each. Mya Harvey had an RBI.
Saige Althoff went all seven innings on the mound,. She allowed no runs on three hits, two walks while striking out eight.
Edwardsville finished with one error.

At Effingham
Effingham St. Anthony banged out 12 hits and put together an 8-2 victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Thursday.
The Bulldogs stepped out to a 5-0 oepning inning lead and went on to tally a run in the second and two in the fourth.
Addie Wernsing finished with a single, home run and two RBI while Ady Rios added three singles. Abbie Hatton had a single, doubleand an RBI while Maddie Kibler had a double and an RBI. Stacie Vonderheide finished with a single and two RBI and Sydney Kibler had a single and an RBI.
Wernsing was the winning pitcher along with her prowess at the plate. She went five innings, allowing two hits, no walks while striking out four.
Windsor/Stew-Stras tallied four hits led by Ellie Wittenberg with a double and two RBI and Mya Friese with two singles.

At Altamont
Altamont and Vandalia were tied at 6-6 going into the bottom of the seventh. The Indians came through with the winning run for a 7-6 victory Thursday.
Brianna Grunloh led off the inning with a triple. Ella Nelson then drew a 10-pitch walk. With one out, Grace Lemke reached on an error when a pop fly to shortstop was dropped and Grunloh scored the winning run.
Both teams had eight hits. Altamont was led by Grunloh with a triple, Laila Hankins with a double and Claire Boehm with two singles. Lemke and Madison Tonn added a single and an RBI each.
Nelson went all seven innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, five walks and striking out nine.

At Paris
Newton High School improved to 2-0 in the Little Illini Conference and 15-4 overall with a 7-2 win over Paris Thursday.
The Eagles edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead and led 2-0 in the top of the second. The Tigers then tied the score at 2-2. Newton moved ahead with three in the fourth and tacked on two in the fifth.
The Eagles finished with 10 hits in the contest. Bailee Frichtl had a triple and an RBI while Avery Mulvey added a single, double and an RBI. Allie Stanley had two singles and two RBI, Audrie Reich two singles and an RBI, Allie Hermann two singles and Mackenzie Holder a single and an RBI.
Mulvey went the last 3.1 innings for the win on the mound. She gave up one hit and struck out five.

South Central handed North Clay (Louisville) a loss in softball action Thursday.
The Cougars pounded North Clay, 15-0.
The Cardinals fell to 1-4 in the National Trail Conference, 2-7 overall.
