Teutopolis Edges Windsor/Stew-Stras In Softball

STRASBURG -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg moved into a 2-1 opening inning lead and led 5-1 after six innings of high school softball action Thursday.

But Teutopolis wasn't out of the game yet. The Wooden Shoes came back with four runs in the seventh to tie the score at 5-5 and then won the game 7-5 with two runs in the eighth.

Both teams had seven hits and both teams had three errors.

The Wooden Shoes were led offensively by Mallory Bloemer with a single, double and two RBI while Olivia Copple added two singles and an RBI. Olivia Hemmen finished with two singles. Summer Wall and Cecilia Apke added two RBI each.

Alyssa Tipton went the distance on the mound for the Shoes. She finished with 11 strikeouts. She gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks.

Windsor/Stew-Stras was led in hitting by Samantha Hayes with a single, double and one RBI, Alaira Friese with two singles and two RBI,  Zaida Wascher with two singles and Mya Friese with an RBI.

S. Hayes took the loss on the mound, going all eight innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, one walk while striking out six.
