STRASBURG -- Dieterich held a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth, but Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg came back with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and held on for a 5-3 softball victory Tuesday.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 after the opening inning. The Hatchets moved ahead with a run in the third. But Dieterich came back to take the lead with two runs in the top of the fourth.

However, the Hatchets put together three runs in the bottom of the frame then held on for the victory.

Both teams had six hits but Dieterich finished up with five errors compared to one for Windsor/Stew-Stras.

Alaira Friese led the win offensively for the Hatchets garnering three of the six hits. She finished with two singles, a double and an RBI. Mya Friese had a single and an RBI while Samantha Hayes and Claire Holland had one hit each.

Kendra Hayes went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits, no walks while striking out five for the win on the mound.

Dieterich was led by Ella Kreke with a single and double, Brittney Niemerg with a double and an RBI, Lucie Jansen with a double and Marli Michl with a single and an RBI.

At Oblong

Newton stepped out to a 3-1 opening inning lead and went on to down Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 11-1 in five innings Tuesday.

Bailee Frichtl led the Eagles with four hits. She finished with three singles, banged out a double and had an RBI. Avery Mulvey hit a home run and had two RBI. Allie Stanley tallied two singles and two RBI, Allie Hermann two singles and one RBI and Macy Barthelemy a single and an RBI.

Amelia Collins went the five innings on the mound, giving up one run on five hits, two walks and striking out six.
