Prep, Minor Girls Roundup -- June 24

PREP LEAGUE

Effingham Truck Sales and Joe's Pizza picked up wins in Girls Prep League softball action Monday at Evergreen Hollow Park.

Effingham Truck Sales bounced Spectrum Screen Graphics 16-6. Spectrum took a 5-3 first inning lead but Truck Sales had seven runs in the second and six in the third. Jade Shryock pitched a no-hitter.

In the second contest, Joe's Pizza led 4-0 after two innings and 4-2 after Remax batted in the top of the third then tallied eight runs in the bottom of the frame.

Taylor Armstrong was the winning pitcher on a one-hitter.

MINOR LEAGUE

Evergreen Mini Golf picked up the first win of the evening in Minor League play at Evergreen Hollow Park Monday evening.

Evergreen Mini Golf took a 5-1 first inning lead and went on to down Chesnut Family Music 7-3. Neither team had a hit in the contest.

In the second game, Heart & Home Realty downed First National Bank of Dieterich 9-6. Heart & Home broke a 1-1 first inning tie with an eight-run second inning.

Murphy USA claimed the final game of the evening by downing Martin's IGA Plus 13-3. Murphy USA opened with 11 runs in the first and never looked back. Riley Guy pitched a no-hitter.
