Newton Beats Dieterich, Altamont Wins In Softball

Dieterich held a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning but the Eagles tallied two in the bottom of the frame to push ahead and never looked back.
Newton tallied four in the second, one in the third and finished the game with five in the fifth.
The Eagles were led offensively by Bailee Frichtl with two singles and three RBI, Addy O'Dell and Lilly Kessler with a single and double each and Kayla Kocher with two singles and an RBI.
Kocher was the winning pitcher, going five innings, allowing one run on five hits, one walk while striking out four. Amelia Collins came on to finish out the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.
The Movin' Maroons aided Newton with six errors.
Dieterich was led by Eva Meinhart with two singles, Brittney Niemerg with a double and Estella Meinhart with a single and an RBI.

At Greenville
Altamont took the early lead and went on for an 8-2 win over Greenville Thursday.
The Indians had two-run innings in the first, second and fourth and one-run innings in the sixth and seventh.
Greenville scored single runs in the first and fifth.
Altamont's Grace Lemke went the distance on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits, three walks while striking out 10.
Meanwhile, Peyton Osteen had a big day at the bat, picking up two singles, a double and driving in two runs. Lanie Tedrick had two singles and an RBI while Sophia Pearcy had a double and two RBI. Presley Siebert contrbuted a single and an RBI.
