Girls Minor League, Prep League -- June 3

MINOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL

In girls Minor League softball action at Evergreen Hollow Park Monday, Heart & Home and Murphy USA picked up victories.

Heart & Home defeated Evergreen Mini Golf 5-3, scoring all five runs in the third inning after Evergreen had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

TAylor Ritz pitched the two-hitter while Krysta Dasenbrock picked up the tough-luck loss on a one-hitter.

In the second game, Murphy USA won over Chesnut Family Music 11-4. Murphy USA broke a 1-1 first inning tie with four runs in the second and tacked on six more in the third.

PREP LEAGUE SOFTBALL

Joe's Pizza, Crossroads and First National Bank of Dieterich were all winners in Girls Prep League competition Monday evening.

Joe's claimed a 13-7 win over Spectrum Screen Graphics. Spectrum held a 5-0 first inning lead and led 7-1 after two. But Joe's came roaring back with a 10-run third and finished out with two in the fourth. Morgan  Krause pitched a two-hitter.

In the second game, Crossroads edged Effingham Truck Sales 8-7 with a run in the fourth then held off a challenge by Effingham Truck Sales. Ally Day was the winning pitcher on a two-hitter.

In the final game, First National Bank of Dieterich stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and never lookeD back in a 15-0 win over Get Fit. Kelsey Demers was the one-hit winning pitcher.
